The Naismith Pub Celtic Music Sessions are held on Wednesday nights, starting at 7:30pm. They are an opportunity for medium to higher level musicians who want to jam, playing Celtic music.
Although they do some singing, their focus is on Irish, Scottish, Valley and other Celtic instrumental music. They have a strong contingent of talented fiddlers, guitarists and banjo players, and may even have the odd accordion and tin whistle at the session.
Everyone is welcome at the Naismith Sessions, but the music jam is really appropriate for medium to higher skill level and talent. They play without music, but if someone needs music, they would be encouraged to bring it, or else simply ask organiser Charles Dunlap and he will bring along some books for you to read.
They like to play in a fun and relaxing atmosphere, and there is no pressure on anyone to start a tune or sing a song. Why not come out and see them in person, live! That way you can get a real sense of the fun you could have!
