Hackberry Men's Shed started in 2015 and is a member of the Canadian Men's Sheds Association. Their purpose is to overcome isolation, loneliness and depression among men, especially after retirement or in time of life crisis; to preserve and share life skills and knowledge; and to be a benefit to the community.
They meet alternate Monday nights at 7pm, and between those meetings they gather on alternate Tuesdays for breakfast at 7:30am at the Gourmet Restaurant on Hwy #7 in Carleton Place to enjoy food and fellowship and swap stories. They also gather at mutually agreeable times to work on community projects such as the bat houses. For more information, visit menssheds.ca, look for the "Lanark Men's Shed" page on Facebook, or email them.
