Each spring, a Pancake Breakfast is held at Union Hall, in the heart of maple syrup country. This year, homemade breakfasts consisting of pancakes, sausages or ham, beans or blueberries, and lashings of butter and Fortune Farms maple syrup, will be served from 8am until noon. Fruit juice, Equator coffee and tea will also be on hand. Gluten-free option available.
The cost of this springtime treat is modest — $8, or $10 for the larger appetite. Kids ten and under eat for $5.
Union Hall, located at the corner of Wolf Grove and Tatlock Roads, 8kms west of Almonte, was constructed in 1857 and has been used continuously since that time. The hall is owned by the local community and maintained by the work of volunteers, with support from the Municipality of Mississippi Mills
This annual fund raiser is organized for the benefit of the public at large and all are welcome. Reservations are not necessary. After breakfast, visitors can take a closer look at maple syrup production by visiting facilities in the area.
